Dear Infracon hiring team,
My name is Hunter Smith and I am a recent graduate from the University of Regina where I was studying business, with a major in finance and a certificate in economics. I am inquiring about the Project Coordinator position with Infracon following graduation (June 2020). After doing some research on Infracon I immediately circled the organization as potential future employer due to the company’s principles being in line with my own, and the business model being one of direct interest.
Born and raised in Carlyle SK I was raised in a family that both farms and operates a drilling and exploration company within Saskatchewan. This upbringing sparked my interest in business at a young age and I quickly realized that I wanted to pursue some sort of business degree in my post-secondary studies. It wasn’t until my second year of university that I discovered my true passion for project management and analytics.
Throughout the past two summers I have been able to land internships with both Cargill and Vaderstad. These internships were based around operations management and supply chain management, with various project management opportunities in both organizations. These internships allowed me to develop many new skills while also allowing me to experience different business settings. I believe that these internships paired with my education and previous work experience will allow me to smoothly transition into the Project Coordinator role with Infracon.
Project management is something that I have always been very intrigued and motivated by in both the workplace and school. Whenever given the opportunity to lead or organize any sort of project, I jump at the opportunity. I consider myself to be a natural leader who has the ability to multitask and stay organized. I have plans to complete my PMP designation once I have acquired the experience qualifications, but I am also not shutting the door on grad school as it is something of interest.
I feel that my strong analytical skills, precise attention to detail, team first mentality, and my ability to adapt will make me a frontrunner for this position with Infracon. The job description describes skills and tasks that fit both my education and work experience, while also seeming like it could be a great next step in my career development. I am very eager and determined to learn the ins and outs of the project management business and would love the chance to sit down and see if there is a fit between Infracon and myself. Thank you for your time and I look forward to your reply!
Sincerely,
Hunter Smith
