Infracon was contracted by JDS Energy & Mining Inc. and Arthon Constructors on behalf of Barrick Gold Corp to complete work on Barrick Gold’s Nickel Plate Mine. The scope of work included test pitting, PAG rock relocation, buttress material excavation and hauling, till excavation, hauling and placement and road maintenance. Infracon was able to quickly mobilize a large fleet of equipment and a crew of up to 25 to achieve the aggressive schedule. The Nickel Plate Mine was a challenging site due to the hardness of the rock and the gradient of the site which had an elevation gain/loss of 400m over 1.5km. Infracon worked through inclement weather and into winter conditions to ensure the job was completed to the client’s satisfaction. Infracon was then contracted by the Owner Barrick Gold to return in 2023 to complete the remaining scopes including till placement and haul road reclamation
