Infracon Construction Inc. (Infracon) was contracted by BC Hydro in partnership with Shuswap Squilax Band to complete a Copper Conductor Realignment/Replacement Project spanning 8km throughout Salmon Arm into Canoe.  The work included excavation, installation, and backfill of cans and anchors along the Highway 97B and Highway 1 transmission line. Infracon achieved completion of 137 locations within a 4 month timeline. This project was challenging due to adverse winter weather conditions, difficult terrain access, permitting, and environmental considerations. Infracon completed the project employing our Air Vac and Hydro Vac fleet, 50 mini excavator, air bridges, access mats, and continuous collaboration with archeological and environmental teams. Infracon delivered the project ahead of schedule, under budget, and to the clients complete satisfaction.
