We are seeking hardworking, seasoned pipe foremen with experience supervising a crew.  Applicants must come with a track record to supervise, direct, coordinate and assist the activities of the crew and equipment safely and efficiently related to all underground utilities earthwork activities on large civil projects.

You must comply with and enforce all safe work practices, policies, and processes and participate in safety meetings, hazard assessments and complete pre and post-trip inspections.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct the activities of laborers and pipe layers using hand and verbal communication
  • Direct excavator operator using hand and verbal communication
  • Read plans, survey grade sheets, and grade stakes
  • Complete tasks in a safe manner following and enforcing safety regulations, the company policies and procedures. Ensure laborers and pipe layers are following the safety program requirements.
  • Regularly inspect the work to ensure all specifications are met
  • Ensure site cleanliness is maintained
  • Attention to detail, critical thinking, problem solving
  • Plan pipe installation to reduce inference with other project activities

Requirements:

  • 5+ years construction experience in a foreman role in the utility installation industry
  • Must be capable of working in trenches, excavations and manholes
  • Experience and understanding of the technical nature of each project type (water, sewer, storm, hydro)
  • Able to understand blueprints to determine locations and formation of pipe
  • Willingness to work out of town
  • Out of town travel is required

Safety Requirements:

  • Valid non-restricted driver’s license and clean driver abstract
  • Completion of Corporate and site-specific Orientations
  • Drug and Alcohol testing, as required
  • Safety certifications (First Aid, CSTS, etc.) considered an asset
  • Basic PPE to be supplied by the worker are boots, hardhat and glasses. Infracon will provide any specialized PPE.
  • Operate 2-way radio

Work Environment & Physical Demands: Work is outdoors, and conditions may include extreme temperatures and uneven ground. Position requires employee to frequently stand, walk, twist, bend, reach and kneel.  Employees must be able to lift 60 – 80 lbs above shoulder height.
