Infracon was contracted by Anglo-American to complete a two-phased project that involved rock blasting, drilling, and road construction, including riprap placement and production, topsoil stripping, pond construction and pipeline integrity works.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS

Infracon  was contracted by Anglo-American to complete the water management and haul road Arch Culvert for their Phase 4 & 5 Pit expansions. Infracon mobilized a large fleet of equipment, which included excavators (Komatsu 1250, JD 800, 4 x 450’s, 5x 350, 3 x 200), dozers (3 x 850K, 3 x D8T), rock trucks (7 x 40 Tonne, 7 x 30 Tonne), a JD824K loader, a JD 772 grader and multiple packers and support equipment.

  • 180,000 mof clearing and grubbing.
  • 55,000 m3 of riprap placement and production.
  • Construction of 12m x 12m x 44m multi-plate, including 60,000m3 of imported/exported materials.
  • 80,000 m3 of drilling and blasting to fill and disposal.
  • 250,000 m3 of topsoil stripping.
  • 6 km of collection ditches.
  • 100,000 m2 clearing and grubbing.
  • 125,000 m3 pre-floc pond.
