Hi there, my name is John and I’m writing you to express an interest in employment. I feel I have the aptitude, transferable skillset, experience, willingness to learn and a positive attitude towards Infracon to become a positive member of your team.
In 2018 I worked as a Surveyor on a couple of projects 1) Installing sewer pipe, culverts, manholes and other utilities as well as roadworks and lot grading for subdivision construction. It involved RTK layout, as-built pick up, quantity calculations both stockpile and surface, and machine support. The data collector was supplied, and the data was prepared by an independent survey company, however I have the experience and know how to prepare my own data with programs supplied, as well as machine control files. 2) Highway construction: passing lanes, interchange, storm sewer and numerous large culverts. From SG to finished ashphalt grade, the job was done with RTK and again the data was prepared by an independent survey company. I was responsible for layout, as-built pickup, quantity calculations as well as machine and piping support. Both jobs involved some laboring and machine operating as my skills are not entirely limited to surveying. In the fall I ended the year working for a Civil Consulting firm out of Kamloops as a part of their legal survey team. With minimal hours of work and little room if any for advancement, I’ve decided to explore other available opportunities.
I have been surveying since the late 90’s and have a variety of experience outside of the construction industry with a lot of time spent doing Legal, reconnaissance, monitoring and mapping surveys. I took Civil Technology in college and have a thorough understanding of Civil construction with respect to earthworks/highway construction, the applicable computations in the field and in the office, as well as proficient DC operations, data transfer and computer operations. I am proficient with numerous Cad software’s including Civil 3D, other supporting programs as well. I started out as an assistant and have held management and party chief roles as well.
In the past I’ve never been fired or let go, I’ve made mistakes but have always caught and corrected them. The work either runs out for me or there is a reason to leave the position. I can offer you a fit, determined, experienced, reliable and team oriented individual who’s objectives are to build solid structures and maintain/create positive working environments. Win/win, that’s the way I like it.
I have attached my resume, as well and am available also. I’m willing to travel and am serious about commitment.
Thanks for your time,
Sincerely,
John Kulik
