Project & Thesis Objective:

“Modifying Bitumen By Glass Powder For Using In Bituminous Base And Wearing Course Of Flexible Pavement” was my undergraduate research topic. In this endeavor, waste glass was chosen as a modifier for bitumen along with 2% cement in some cases to analyze the enhancement in the properties of the bitumen so that bitumen can be used more efficiently. Marshall Stability Test, Penetration and Softening Point Test were conducted in the lab to get various parameters in order to observe the changes in the properties of the bitumen from the standard specifications. Eventually, a mix design was generated which gave the best possible outcomes. From this, it was concluded that the additives had some explicit impact on bitumen and were able to increase the mix design properties to a marvelous extent. Nevertheless, there are still many opportunities present for future development in case of research purposes because it is my belief that with the development of modern civilization, cost effective methods should be generated so that the budget in  implementing Transportation  projects can be reduced. This will enable  the Transportation Engineering  sector to flourish because greater  performance and efficiency will be available with  minimum design cost.
